Season 3 is set to feature the love triangle brewing between lead characters Riley, Maya and Lucas.

In a series such as "Girl Meets World" where the theme surrounds growing up, victories, defeats and struggles are always tackled. In doing so, relationships with families, friends and romantic interests are often highlighted.

Such is the story of Riley whose parents try to cope with her growing years as she discovers more of the world with her best friend Maya. Now on their way to high school, they are not only dealing with a bigger world but they are going through many emotional changes as well.

The teasers indicate the Lucas is confused by his feelings for Riley and Maya. Riley was instantly attracted to Lucas when they first met and Maya's feeling for him has intensified in the last episodes. Is Lucas about to choose between the girls? In doing so, how will his choice affect their friendship?

To represent the slightly older age bracket, three new characters are to be introduced in the series. According to The Wrap, actor Luke Benward and actresses Ashley Argota and Claudia Lee have joined the cast for season 3. They are presumed to play the older kids in the new school where the gang enters their freshmen year.

The three new cast members are said to be in the same love triangle situation as the series lead. It remains to be seen if these new characters would be helpful in bridging the gap between friends or the other way around.

In season 2, someone from Shawn's past appeared in one of the episodes. Fans of the then couple Shawn and Angela in their show "Boy Meets World," was quite disappointed to know that the latter has been married for four years.

According to Enstarz, actress Tina McGee, who plays Angela on the show, posted a picture of ex-couple Shawn and Angela on her Instagram with a caption that hinted at a possible relighting of romance between the two.

No official announcement of season 3 has been made yet but talks have it that the next season will premiere mid-year.
