According to news reports, the third installment of the Ghostbusters movie franchise, 'Ghostbusters 3,' will feature an all-female cast, with 'Bridesmaids' director Paul Feig set to direct. Filming is set to begin next year, but there is still no word on an official release date.

Feig replaced Ivan Reitman on the director's chair after having been the director for two years.

In a separate interview, Reitman stated that the movie did not need him as a director anymore.

"Having done the other two and with the passing of Harold [Ramis] and with Bill Murray seeming disinterested in being in it, I thought it was better for me just to produce it and to make sure we're going to have the quality and style of what is appropriate for another version of that film. But the franchise could benefit from somebody else's point of view," Reitman told SuperheroHype.

Kate Dippold is scheduled to write the script, replacing Dan Akroyd who has been writing the script for the film for over three years. Dippold was also the one responsible for the 'Heat' script.

Bill Murray has said that he is not planning to return on the 'Ghostbusters 3' cast, but the actor did mention some actresses that would fit the bill perfectly for the comedic cast.

Murray talked to the Toronto Star during the recently-held Toronto International Film Festival and said that the actresses who he felt would do well in this Ghostbusters movie would be Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Linda Cardellini, and Emma Stone.

There has not been an official cast released yet, but Kristen Wiig seems excited and optimistic on how Murray mentioned her name. Speaking to Yahoo news, Wiig heard the endorsement from Murray and responded positively.

"I will do whatever Bill Murray tells me to," Wiig said at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, to which her publicist replied "that will run everywhere!" Wiig acknowledged  it, adding "I know! That's why I said it!"
