It is a long wait until "Game of Thrones" season six. But fans still get their fill of the TV series, thanks to numerous news coming in about cast updates. The latest addition is renowned British actor, Richard E. Grant.

Variety reports that HBO has just cast Grant in a still unnamed role for "Game of Thrones" season six. The news came via an update of the British actor's online resume by his talent agency. The update listed the HBO drama series, but it was later on deleted.

Before Grant's agency removed the show, it noted his role as "various," hinting that the 58-year-old actor will be in multiple episodes.

Grant also appeared in PBS' "Downton Abbey," making him the second star from the period drama to crossover to the TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin's novels. Rose Leslie, who portrayed Gwen Dawson in the PBS show, stepped into wildling Ygritte's role and became Jon Snow's "wife."

The British actor is best known for his role as Withnail in the 1987 film, "Withnail and I," and as Dr. Jack Seward in the 1992 hit, "Bram Stoker's Dracula." He has also appeared as the Time Lord in two non-main continuity stories of "Dcotor Who" — the Conceited Doctor in "Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death" and the Shalka Doctor in "Doctor Who: Scream of the Shalka." He was also originally scheduled to play the Ninth Dcotor in the 2005 reboot of the series but the role eventually went to Christopher Eccleston.

"Game of Thrones" has been adding a lot of new cast members for the upcoming season, some hinting at storylines and possible death (or deaths). With the casting of Pilou Asbæk in the role of Euron Greyjoy, fans can almost be assured to see the death of Balon Greyjoy. A young Ned Stark has also been cast (Sebastian Croft), along with a call for who seems to be a young Robert Baratheon, suggesting that there will be plenty of flashbacks.

Aside from season six, GRRM fans are also looking forward to the sixth book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. "A Winds of Winter" still has no definite release date but the author has started sharing excerpts of the much-anticipated book.

"A Game of Thrones" is scheduled to pilot season six in early 2016.
