Samsung Galaxy Note 7 release date, specs rumors: new tablet to sport Snapdragon 821 processor
After rumors circulated about the next Note device, Samsung has finally confirmed that it will unveil the new Galaxy Note 7 at an event on August 2.
The announcement can be seen on Samsung's Newsroom site and it mentioned that the Galaxy Note 7 is intended for those "who want to get the most from their phones – and their lives." Galaxy Note 7 helps users achieve a lot of things in their work and home and everything else.
Samsung has also explained about why the new note device will be called the Galaxy Note 7 instead of the Note 6 even though the current iteration is still a Note 5. The company explained two reasons for this decision: one is that the Note 7 should complement other current devices that have the number 7 in their model name – Galaxy S7 and S7 edge – and the other is to avoid confusion from the latest tech offering from the company. These reasons have already been rumored in the past and they turned out to be true.
The announcement didn't give a hint on the specs and features that the Note 7 will have. Rumors still stand that the device will most probably have a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display. It is also rumored to have 6 GB of RAM. It is also assumed that the Note 7 will have a 12-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel front camera, the same one found in the current S7 and S7 Edge.
It is also rumored that the tablet will have the most up-to-date chipset, the powerful Snapdragon 821, but according to News18, this chipset model will only be for models intended for the US market.
All the mysteries surrounding the anticipated Note 7 should be revealed at the event. People will then be introduced to the device that is being compared to Apple's next release, the iPhone 7 lineup. The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will kick off on August 2, at 11 a.m. ET in New York.
