Samsung Galaxy Note 6 launch and specs rumors: Is a July release date likely?

(Samsung)

Samsung's Galaxy Note 6 could end up being released just a bit earlier than previously expected.

With the Note 5 being launched in August of last year, there was a belief that this year's phablet would also make its debut right around the same time, but that may not be the case.

According to the Korean web site, The Bell, Samsung's latest phablet could end up being announced as early as July.

It's difficult to determine just how reliable the report actually is, but there may be more than a few reasons to believe that it is actually legitimate.

For instance, should the Note 6 actually be launched in July as the rumor states then the difference isn't really that significant since it would amount to about a month.

On top of that, Samsung moving up its release cycle for its phablet offering isn't unprecedented either.

As Techno Buffalo pointed out, Samsung has done the very same thing before. Not too long ago, the company's phablet line was routinely updated in September and that cycle has been tinkered with already, so Samsung doing the same thing again would not be too surprising.

There may also be another reason to believe that Samsung is indeed planning to release the Galaxy Note 6 in July and this one is related to their competition.

According to Value Walk, Samsung's decision to release the Note 6 in July could also be part of the company's plan to differentiate their product cycles from Apple's thus allowing them to have more of the spotlight whenever they do release a new device.

Unfortunately, with Samsung declining to announce anything just yet, the July release date is still not set in stone at this point, though it can clearly be a sensible decision especially when certain factors are taken into consideration.

More news about the Galaxy Note 6 should be made available in the future.
