One danger that writers and directors have to deal with when coming up with a sequel or prequel to their work is the numerous speculations and rumors that surround it. A perfect example would be "Frozen 2." The sequel to the wildly popular animated movie about an Ice Queen, her sister and a lovable snowman has been in the center of dozens of rumors ever since it has been reported that a sequel is in the works.

For a while there, it became like a favorite pastime to link the movie to other animated Disney hits. "Frozen's" co-director, Chris Buck, previously admitted that for him, Elsa and Anna's parents didn't die at sea. They actually survived and were washed ashore on a jungle island, along with their baby boy. They were able to build a treehouse where they lived until the parents were eaten by a leopard and the baby consequently raised by apes. Yes, in Buck's mind Tarzan was Elsa and Anna's baby brother.

After that, theories surfaced of how the movie was linked to "Tangled" (Rapunzel and Flynn were seen during Elsa's coronation) and "The Little Mermaid" (the ship where Ariel was playing in).

Aside from how "Frozen" was interconnected with other movies, rumors have also been rife as to the sequel's storyline. There have been reports that "Frozen 2" might delve into Queen Elsa's sexuality, with some saying that she might be written as a lesbian. Still others are saying that there will be a quick 360 and that Elsa will be the sequel's villain.

But one storyline that fans are demanding for is an explanation as to how Elsa got her powers and whether or not Anna has powers too. Luckily, the creators of "Frozen" have gamely answered that question already.

In a recent interview that Buck and Jennifer Lee gave to HitFix, Buck revealed that Elsa's younger sister's "superpower is love! She saves the day with love." While some would be quick to dismiss it as a campy answer, Lee elaborated on the answer and explained that "love is powerful." She gave as an example how some women suddenly find themselves capable of lifting a car off their kid.

Of course, these theories are all speculations and until Disney confirms it to be true, they should be taken with a heaping dose of salt.
