'For Honor' release date news update: Game to launch a technical test with NDA; will it be an online-only game?

The gaming arena is shaping up to be a competitive battleground year after year, thus the pressure to make every title flawless is of utmost importance. This is the reason why technical tests are done to ensure optimal performance and one that is reportedly going to be done for the Ubisoft game, "For Honor."
According to DSO Gaming, there will be a technical test held for the title from Dec. 14 to Dec. 19. The unique thing about this is that it appears there is a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) around the said activity, meaning invited testers cannot share any information about the game.
What's curious, though, is how this is going to be different from the publicized Beta registration. It can be recalled that the registration has been up for quite some time now, and with the reported technical test, one can't help but wonder how the treatment is unique aside from the NDA. It is indeed odd, and puts players on a loop as they ponder on the report.
What's interesting is if it will address recent rumors about the title requiring internet connection at all times. Twitter user Wario64 shared the box art for "For Honor," and it shows that a stable connection is needed to play the game. It is a game from Ubisoft after all, but speculations are still up in the air.
Wait, For Honor requires an online connection? I shouldn't be surprised anymore since it's Ubisoft but I still didn't know pic.twitter.com/vExoDHgsS6

It can be recalled in one of the previous interviews from GameSpot that Ubisoft promised an experience that wouldn't be hindered by not having internet connection. Creative director Jason VandenBerghe described what players can expect from the single-player campaign.
"We built the campaign so that if you bought the game just for that, that you would be satisfied even if you never went online and played multiplayer. It's intended to be a full experience," VandenBerghe pointed out during the said interview.
A lot of speculation revolves around the game, but if anything is certain, it is that it created great publicity for the title. "For Honor" will be made available to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms by Feb. 14, 2017.
