'Five Nights at Freddy's' movie to feature 'Sister Location' animatronic

Fans of Scott Cawthon's "Five Nights at Freddy's" series will be delighted to know that a movie is on its way. The latest rumor surrounding the film adaptation is that it may feature characters and components from the upcoming game, "Five Nights at Freddy's Sister Location."
A trailer for the new game has recently been released. As previously reported, it saw the introduction of four new animatronic characters—one of which is a doll-like figure with pigtails and an eerie smile. The game will be released sometime this fall and is expected to delve deeper into the franchise's lore. Rumor also has it that the upcoming game's setting will be at an amusement park. Fans certainly have a lot to look forward to with Cawthon's creations.
However, not much is known about the upcoming film's plot. Cawthon confirmed earlier last month that the film's script still wasn't finished at the time. The "Five Nights at Freddy's" creator wrote on a Steam discussion board, "The script is still being worked on. The people involved are taking the movie seriously, which is definitely a good thing!" No new updates on its completion has been made though.
There is one sure thing that fans can hold on to. It looks like the film will heavily dig into not only the franchise's lore, but also a new type of horror genre.
"The story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to," Cawthon told The Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the story on a "Five Nights at Freddy's" film.
Director Gil Kenan also provided a little teaser for fans in the form of a Twitter post. Kenan tweeted a photo of what looks to be an animatronic model.
The "Five Nights at Freddy's" film has not been given an official release date as of yet, but it is widely speculated to come out sometime this year.
