Fans of the point-and-click survival horror game "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" are in for a treat this coming Halloween. The creator of the franchise Scott Cawthon has recently updated the fans that there will be two upcoming patches for the IP, a canon update that is still related to the lore and a non-canon for the coming Halloween.

According to Scott Cawthon's post on Steam earlier this week, the creator of "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" and its franchise has revealed that there are two upcoming patches set to be released for the game this month.

The first one will contain the previously announced additional contents into the game, as what he mentioned on his post last August on Steam.

"One will be the content update for the official game, updating it to 1.1. This version is canon, as it always has been. This update will include the features originally promised such as the new challenges and cheats," Cawthon said on his announcement.

As for the other one, the game creator explains that the Halloween update will not be related to the story or lore of "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" but instead, it will only bring the spirit of Halloween into the game by adding a few details into it.

"The second release will be a special Halloween edition of FNaF4, with a few changed characters and other cosmetic changes. This game is not canon, and is only for fun for the holidays," the game creator wrote on the update. He then continued to stress out that both of the mentioned upcoming patches are free of charge when they get released.

In terms of availability, according to Realty Today, the standard edition update for "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" is now available for the Android and iOS platforms as well as on the PC.
