Feast of Epiphany 2013 in photos
Orthodox Christians celebrated the Feast of Epiphany on January 19 by descending upon Jordan River, the traditional site where it is believed John the Baptist baptized Jesus. For the Eastern Christian Churches, Theophany is the celebration of the revelation of God as a human being in Jesus Christ.
For Western Churches, Epiphany or Theophany traditionally falls on January 6. But Eastern Churches following the Julian Calendar observe the Theophany feast on on January 19 because of the 13-day difference today between that calendar and the Gregorian calendar.
