The spinoff "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462's" second episode made its debut during episode two of "The Walking Dead."
For those relatively new to this, "Flight 462" is a spinoff of another spinoff - "Fear the Walking Dead." It is set during the early stages of the zombie outbreak and follows the story of several airplane passengers. The spinoff consists of 16 very short webisodes, and short here means each episode will run for about 50 to 90 seconds each. Each one will initially be shown during a commercial break for "The Walking Dead" and will then be released online a week after.
Interestingly enough, one of the survivors of "Flight 462" will be part of the cast of "Fear the Walking Dead's" second season.
To recap, the first part introduced several passengers as they wait for their flight to take off. One young boy is fidgety and nervous as he keeps messaging his mom, who's apparently stuck somewhere but who promised him that she'll be with him soon. Several passengers had started complaining and one man even pointed out that there are reports of flights being grounded. While the young boy is looking out a window, a young Asian woman suddenly reached over and pulled down the shade.
Part two just continued the flow of the first episode. And given that it only ran for 50 seconds, not much happened. The young man continues to text his mother but his messages are not going through. While this might be due to a number of reasons, like no cell service, it still causes the boy some anxiety.
More ominously, the passenger who angrily questioned the reports of flights being grounded is seen vomiting into his bag while the plane lifts off. This has made fans think that he might be "patient zero," the source of the virus.
The clip ends with a shot of the young Asian woman calmly peeking at the boy from between the seats.
"The Walking Dead" fans know by now that things are going to get worse pretty fast in the next few episodes, so hopefully the boy will be able to find something to defend himself against the walkers, like the knitting needle that his older seatmate has.
