The first installment of the "Harry Potter" prequel film series will hit theaters in November.
The prequel will not be directly related to "Harry Potter." Instead, the next franchise will center on the journey of Newt Scamander who happens to be the author of one of the books featured in the "Harry Potter" saga. He was mentioned in the "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone."

The book was released in 2001 and on Sept. 12, 2013, Warner Bros. announced that it will be adapted into a film. Author J.K. Rowling shared the statement on her Facebook account where she also shared how the idea came about.

She said that when Warner first approached her about the project, she thought it would be fun "but the idea of seeing Newt Scamander, the supposed author of 'Fantastic Beasts,' realized by another writer was difficult." Rowling admitted that she is protective of Scamander's character that "hard-core 'Harry Potter' fans will know, I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite chacters," which is Luna Lovegood.

Such may be the case as the movie will feature her screenwriting debut and she has also co-produced the film. She added that the series is an extension to Potter's world where the story is still set in the world of witches and wizards. However, the story starts in New York and takes place 70 years before Harry's journey takes place.

In preparation for the movie, Rowling has written a four-part introduction to the world of wizardry where her works are focused on. The installations are meant to give readers and viewers a historical background of the series they have grown to love.

The first installment, "History of Magic in North America," was released on March 7 and has earned mixed reactions as it is also tied to true to life beliefs in North America.
