The upcoming chapter 496 of "Fairy Tail" will feature the return of Gildarts as he unleashes his might against God Serena and Acnologia.

According to spoiler reports, Gildarts finally returns after his long journey and will tell his team to proceed with their respective fights with Spriggan 12 as he will face God Serena.

Allegedly, Gildarts takes on God Serena who immediately succumbs to his Empyrean technique, the same magical power he used against Grimoire Heart's Bluenote during the series' "Tenrou Island" story arc.

However, according to HOF, it is also possible that it will not be Gildarts who will battle with God Serena in "Fairy Tail" chapter 496 but Makarov as it is likely for the latter to ask the former to take care of the guild members. As Gildarts is said to have accepted the responsibility to be held liable in the event that something bad happens to the fairies, he leads Natsu and the rest of the gang in their fight against other Spriggan members.

Meanwhile, it is also reported that Elfman and Lisanna find themselves battling Ajeel. It is said that during this fight, both Elfman and Lisanna will unleash their transformation powers and reveal their ultimate forms in this battle.

Mirajane, on the other hand, is said to be pitted against Jacob, while Rogue and Minerva go heads-on with Wahl and Bradman.

It is also predicted that "Fairy Tail" chapter 496 will feature Gray Fullbuster against Invel as, apart from the fact that both are strategic with their combats, the two are also known for possessing Ice Magic.

While there is a possibility for Gildarts to unleash his powers on other Spriggan members, spoilers claim that the most exciting part will be his face-off with Acnologia, who is the very reason why he lost an arm and leg.

According to "Fairy Tail" pundits, by the time Gildarts faces Acnologia, his power must have already leveled up since he already defeated God Serena, who is a powerful wizard. With his improved power, many now believe that he can give Acnologia a good match.
