'Enlisted' gameplay news, release date: Gaijin Entertainment creating WWII-inspired game

"War Thunder" game developer Gaijin Entertainment recently announced that it is creating a new multiplayer squad-based shooter game titled "Enlisted." The World War II-inspired game will also be developed by Darkflow Software Studio.

(Official "Enlisted" Website)"Enlisted" is a multiplayer squad-based shooter game.

According to the studio, "Enlisted" is going to be a game that highlights the most important battles during the second World War. The first-person shooter video game will allow players to go through real-life historical battles in the campaign mode and multiplayer mode. The game will be set in a massive battlefield that could accommodate up to 100 players. The maps will be detailed and it will even contain some destructible elements.

"Enlisted" will be equipped with Gaijin Entertainment's Dagor Engine. The developers aim to create an authentic experience, wherein each squad will be assigned to a specific task an objective. The game's objective isn't to annihilate every enemy soldier. Often times, players will have to hold the enemy forces and prevent the enemy from advancing. "This is something one can experience in single-player games but not in online game with human opponents," Darkflow said.

The campaigns will serve as standalone game. Now, gamers can pre-order two of the campaign modes, Battle of Moscow and Invasion of Normandy. Both "Enlisted" campaigns can be purchased for $22 each. Gamers who want to buy both games at the same time can purchase them for $50, and it will come with three weapons and access to the final game. Players who pre-order the game will be able to access the beta mode when it is launched in the second half of 2017.

The developers will continue to add new elements to the game along the way. The updates will solely be based on user feedback. According to producer Alexander Nagorny, "It will be a first-person shooter decided by the fans, for the fans. They will have direct input into what we create, including things like campaigns, game modes, even which platforms after PC we support."

"Enlisted" is slated to launch sometime in 2017.
