The fourth season of NBC's "Elementary" premiered mere days ago in Nov. 5, and there was no denying how eventful the return of the show has been. Last Thursday's debut saw the introduction of Sherlock's elusive father, Morland. Rob Doherty, executive producer for the series, has since chimed in on the controversial addition to the show and according to him, while there is a certain sense of animosity between father and son, Morland returned for one reason alone, and that is to make sure that Sherlock is alright.

"It's pretty clear that one doesn't like the other, and dad ultimately proposes they be bigger than this and focus on the real reason that he's come to New York, which is to make sure his son is OK."

The cast and crew of the series obviously have no qualms in introducing drama and excitement right off the bat and because of this audiences are up in arms trying to figure out what the rest of the season or even just the next episode have in store for them. Fortunately, the network has since released the official synopsis for next week's broadcast and by the looks of it fans would be no less satisfied.

According to the summary as reported by The Futon Critic, "Evidence of Things Not Seen" would see more of Morland. In the episode, the estranged father would try to help his son and partner to return to the force. Because of their history, Sherlock is hesitant to accept the offer.

"When Morland offers to use his influence to have Sherlock and Joan reinstated as consultants to the NYPD, Sherlock's mistrust of his father makes him question his motivation to help. Also, with no work offers coming in, Watson wrangles a gig with the FBI investigating a triple homicide in a top-secret research lab" read the synopsis.

"Evidence of Things Not Seen" is scheduled to debut on Nov. 12 on CBS.
