Goku, Vegeta and the three other Earth born Saiyans are about to embark on another adventure in the upcoming series "Dragon Ball Super."

The newest "Dragon Ball" series comes after a long 18-year wait and fans are eager to see what the next DBZ incarnation will bring, especially after a promo art posted on TOEI animation, shows old and new characters.

A synopsis for the show reveals that the series will start after the defeat of Majin Buu. To recap, after being released from his egg, Majin Buu proved to be one of the hardest villains the Z team ever encountered. Goku was able to defeat the candy loving creature with some much needed help from Vegeta (and Mr. Satan).

But apparently life is peaceful again in the DBZ universe and things are starting to go back to normal. Chi-chi has ordered Goku to work and earn money, which he does despite his desire to train harder than before. The new series will also follow Goten who goes on a journey with Trunks to find a present for Videl, his soon-to-be sister -in-law.

It goes without saying that Goku and the rest of the remaining Saiyans – Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks and Goten – will be back, along with Bulma, Chi-Chi, Kame-Sen'nin, Krillin, Majin Buu, Mr. Satan, Piccolo and Videl. Beerus the God of Destruction and Whis from the "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods" and "Dragon Ball: Resurrection F" movies will also appear as regular characters.

A new character will also be introduced and can be seen in the promo. The purple cat creature, Shanpa, is also a God of Destruction and is also reportedly one of the villains.

Fans only have a few days to go before "Dragon Ball Super" is released on July 5. But for those who cannot wait, a short trailer has been released to tide fans over.
