While "Dragon Ball Super" episode 73 has yet to be aired, it is already alleged that its upcoming episode 74 will feature Gohan as the Great Saiyaman.

There is no denying that "Dragon Ball Super" fans are sad as no new episode of the popular anime was released last New Year's Day. However, the wait will be soon over as its highly anticipated episode 73 will finally arrive on Jan. 8 at 9 a.m., Japan time.

While "Dragon Ball Super" episode 73 has yet to be shown, already reports reveal that its succeeding episode, episode 74 (to be aired on Jan. 15), will have Gohan take the center stage. According to sources, the half-Saiyan will return to help his alter ego film a motion picture about the Great Saiyaman, supposedly to be top-billed by Mr. Satan. However, the actor eventually backs out while doing a dangerous stunt for the movie, hence, Gohan ends up taking the role.

Meanwhile, it has been learned that "Dragon Ball Super" will have a new story arc beginning February: the "Universal Survival" story arc. Based on the synopsis of the said story arc, the Omni King will grant Goku's request to hold a Tournament of Power between the universes.

"But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished...?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out...?!" goes the rest of the "Universal Survival" story arc.

According sources, the upcoming new arc will feature characters from the different Dragon Ball universes. It is suspected that Gohan will be part of the team that will represent Universe 7 and will be joined by Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Buu, Android 17, Android 18, Master Roshi, Krillin and Tien.

It is, likewise, suspected, that episodes 73, 74, and the rest to be shown this month are only filler episodes until the "Universal Survival" story arc begins airing next month.
