'Dragon Ball Super' episode 74 spoilers news: Gohan to feature in a movie in filler episodes; new arc airs next month

A new arc is slated to appear in the popular anime series "Dragon Ball Super." But before the highly awaited Universal arc begins, viewers will see a two-part filler series starring Gohan and the villain Watagash.

In "Dragon Ball Super" episode 73, titled "Gohan Becomes a Movie Star?," Gohan's superhero story was made into a movie, titled "Great Saiyaman vs Mister Satan!" The saiyan, however, did not portray the main role; instead, he will only be a stunt double for the main actor Barry Karn, who will portray the Great Saiyaman. When the actor hesitated  to do a dangerous scene, the heroic stunt double jumped in and did the job for him.

The episode also introduced the evil criminal Watagash, who managed to escape from Jaco.

In the following episode, 74, titled "For the Sake of Those He Loves! The Indomitable Great Saiyan," the trivialities of Gohan's current job will continue. The episode will feature the struggles that Gohan has to go through as a celebrity stunt double. Meanwhile, the planet Earth will be needing a savior when a parasitic alien named Watagash begins to feed on the darkness in people's hearts. This villain will help citizens cultivate the darkness within them.

The Universal Survival arc will not commence right after Gohan's two-episode series. A few filler episodes are expected to follow. Reports say that the next arc will be introduced in February.

In the next chapter of the series, King Zeno will host a tournament, wherein all creatures from the multi-verse can participate. This tournament will, however, only feature the toughest and most powerful beings in the multi-verse.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 73 premiered on Jan. 8 on Fuji TV, while episode 74 "For the Sake of Those He Loves! The Indomitable Great Saiyan" airs on Jan. 15. The Universal Survival Arc is expected to drop on Feb. 5.
