'Dragon Ball Super' episode 51 spoilers: Black Goku wreaks havoc in the future; can Future Trunks save Mai?

(Fuji TV)Black Goku continues to wreak havoc, while Future Mai tries to survive.

With Black Goku returning to his original timeline, it has become more imperative for Future Trunks, Goku, and Vegeta to go back to the future and stop him. But can they make it there on time?

"Dragon Ball Super" fans are on a high right now after episode 50 featured one of the best fights Goku has had against one of the stronger villains he has ever met. But with Black Goku still alive and undoubtedly wrecking havoc in the future, Goku and Trunks must follow him as soon as they can.

A trailer for episode 51 begins with a shot of an armed man looking frightened as a powerful blast heads toward him. The next scene shows Black and Trunks apparently facing each other. Goku is then heard asking the older Trunks what's wrong and the young man reveals that there are other people who are fighting against Black. The fighters know that without Future Trunks, the people in the future timeline will be at Black's mercy, prompting Goku to insist that they need to get there immediately.

Vegeta's son also reveals that he has fought alongside an older Mai. Her younger version blushes when Future Trunks looks at her. Meanwhile, the younger Trunks looks alarmed, while Bulma just smiles knowingly. However, the clip ends on an ominous note, with Black Goku sending a powerful blast down a city, while a barely alive Mai hides.

The upcoming episode, titled "Feelings that Transcend Time: Trunks and Mai," hints that the feelings the two might have felt in the future might transcend time, with their younger selves developing an attraction toward each other, too.

While a little "Dragon Ball" romance is fun to see, fans are no doubt more interested in knowing more of Black Goku's backstory, especially after the tantalizing hints that he has dropped in episode 50. The villain was shown to have recognized Goku and Vegeta, which was strange as they were both dead in Future Trunks' timeline. There's also his strange statement to Goku, when he said that he was honored to be fighting the Saiyan in this body, hinting that Black's body might not be his original form at all.

Luckily, fans might soon learn about Black's real identity in episode 53, which is said to be titled "Expose it! Black's True Identity."

Episode 51 of "Dragon Ball Super" will be aired on Fuji TV on July 10 at 9 a.m.
