'Downton Abbey' season 5 spoilers: Rose and Atticus' wedding threatened

(ITV/PBS/official Facebook page)

With only two episodes left for season five to end, fans of the period drama "Downton Abbey" are wondering what will transpire within each character's storyline. Episode 7 saw Edith confessing to Cora about Marigold's true parentage, Cora making a decision to bringing up Marigold in Downton, Bates and Anna planning their future and Isis being diagnosed with cancer.

According to IMDb's official episode synopsis, it seems a lot happens in the penultimate episode of "Downton Abbey". Kuragin confesses his love for Violet as the family prepares for Rose and Atticus's wedding. Susan and Shrimpy put up a show of togetherness for the wedding but Susan makes it clear she doesn't approve of the match. On his stag night, Atticus is tricked into removing his shirt and being snapped with a prostitute. The photograph is sent to Rose, but rather than calling off the wedding, she somehow guesses it was one of her mother's schemes.

Trouble brews for Anna and John who are summoned to Scotland Yard and told that Mr. Greene was a well-known sexual predator. Anna acts coy and unaware of this but takes part in an identity parade. While she is released, later on in the episode, she is arrested because it is proven that she was seen at the spot where Greene died. Anna and John's future seems bleak. At Downton, the war memorial is unveiled and Robert has a revelation, possibly regarding the true parentage of Marigold. What will Robert do now that he knows?

Slate reports that Robert will bid adieu to cancer-stricken Isis who refused to allow the vet to put it down. Additionally, Edith has a short reign over Michael Gregson's publishing house. Will Rose and Atticus finally walk down the aisle? Will Robert accept Marigold as Edith's child? What will happen to Anna? Find out when "Downton Abbey" season 5 episode 8 airs on PBS at 9 p.m.
