'Doom' cheat codes: tweaks and tips for God mode and much more

(Bethesda)

Bethesda's demon slaying action game "Doom" has finally been released and the reboot version comes with a number of tweaks, cheats, and tips that would make the player's gaming experience easier and more enjoyable.

Available only on PC, these cheat codes gives the player protection against damages, reveal hidden secrets, and gives them unlimited health and ammunition. Before using these cheat codes, however, players should be aware that once they have used these cheat commands, they cannot be part of steam achievements and their saved game will be flagged with a cheat sign.

Therefore, it is advised that players should create a clean saved game first before using these commands. Once done, players can enable them by using the Dev Console. It should also be noted that the commands can only be used in a single player part of the game.

To access the Dev Console, press the Control, Alt, and tilde (~) keys simultaneously. This opens up the console where a player can type in the command "god." Hitting this command will allow the player to only play offline. However, they can still enable and disable the God mode by using the same process.

The commands that have been confirmed to be working in the new DOOM reboot include "cvarAdd g_permaInfiniteAmmo 1" to acquire infinite ammo; "g_fov X – where X is the FOV number" to change FOV; "cvarAdd g_inhibitAi 1" for Dumb AI; and "Com_showFPS 3" to draw FPS.

If the player want to unlock the perks, they can either use the command "DebugUnlockPerkByAbility -1" or "DebugUnlockPerkByRequirement -1."

There are also other commands that were used in the previous "Doom" version but are not yet confirmed whether they will work or not with the new version. Some of them include: "IDBEHOLDV" to gain temporary invulnerability; "IDBEHOLDI" to gain temporary invincibility; "IDDQD" to turn on or turn off invincibility; and "IDFA" for weapons and ammunition.
