Dell 17-inch 2-in-1 laptop releases during Computex 2016
Laptops have been arriving at a fast pace at Computex 2016 in Taipei, Taiwan, and among these was a huge 17-inch model from Dell. As soon as this particular 2-in-1 device was announced, it was heralded as being the world's first 17-inch 2-in-1 laptop.
Among the details that were drawing the viewer's attention towards the 17-inch Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 offering was its size. Additionally, websites such as The Verge were describing it as the world's first 2-in-1 laptop with a 17-inch screen. It went on to outline how Dell was hoping that its lineup, and particularly the 17-inch laptop which can also be used as a tablet, would attract people who were looking to enjoy content along with their family.
However, Dell seemed to be aware of the limited appeal of the 17-inch Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 laptop and how its huge screen might become a problem for those who use it for work. Therefore, the company also announced a series of other devices in the 7000 2-in-1 range and these have 13 and 15-inch screens. The cheapest version in this particular range is expected to cost $749.
Also in the 2-in-1 laptop range is the 11-inch Inspiron 3000 and it aims to target students and others on a limited budget since it comes with a $249 price tag which is quite affordable.
For those who want a better device, there is the Inspiron 5000 2-in-1 range that comes in 13 and 15-inches and it features a backlit keyboard along with an infrared camera. This particular lineup is going to have a starting price tag of $529. Both the Inspiron 5000 and the Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 range can be purchased with an infrared camera which will come in useful when users want to log in with the Windows Hello feature.
Along with these 2-in-1 models, Dell also announced the release of regular notebooks. However, all eyes were fixed on the arrival of the 17-inch Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 offering. It also left analysts wondering if it was going to start a trend in bigger screen devices.
