'Daredevil' season 3 release date, cast rumors: The Punisher not appearing in upcoming season?
For the past few months, fans have been dying to hear from "Daredevil" as the third season seemed to shy away from the spotlight. However, hopes were once again boosted as Marvel's San Diego Comic-Con 2016 panel confirmed that the show has been renewed for a third installment.
Multiple outlets have confirmed the news and Netflix went on to tease the new episodes through a tweet. "Next stop: Hell's Kitchen. Daredevil Season 3 is coming soon," the streaming giant wrote on Twitter, along with a short teaser that featured the subway station sign of Hell's Kitchen splattered with blood.

While fans are looking forward to Daredevil's (Charlie Cox) adventures in the new episodes, many are also excited to see the re-appearance of The Punisher/Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal).
However, there are reports suggesting that The Punisher may not appear in the upcoming installment of "Daredevil." According to The Christian Times, rumor has it that The Punisher won't appear in the third season as he is preparing for his own solo show.
The Punisher already has a solid fanbase ever since he appeared in season two with Elektra (Elodie Yung), which is the reason why Netflix ordered for a spinoff series starring the hero.
If The Punisher's appearances are indeed being saved for his solo series, fans who watched him in "Daredevil" will most likely wait for about a year or more before Marvel announces a first season since there are other superhero shows in line for 2016 and 2017.
On the other hand, there is still a possibility for Castle to make a short appearance in "Daredevil" season three. The sad thing though is that Daredevil will star in "The Defenders" in 2017. This only means that viewers will have to be patient for the premiere of the new season.
Obviously, Marvel and Netflix will be focusing on "Luke Cage" and "The Defenders" for now before "Daredevil" gets a go signal for production to commence. This could also push a potential The Punisher premiere further.
The premiere date of "Daredevil" season three has yet to be announced.
