Matt Murdock's ace fighting skills, calm demure and handsome looks won over the audience when Netflix premiered "Daredevil" in April, 2015. Understandably, Marvel fans are keenly waiting for any news of the show's sophomore series. While production is slated to begin full-swing later this year, comic-book fans will be delighted to know that at least two fan-favorite characters are cast in the upcoming season.

Den Of Geek reports that actress Elodie Yung has been cast as Elektra for the show's second season. Fans of the comic-book series know all too well that she plays a crucial role in Matt Murdock's life. Viewers can expect ample flashbacks as well as present day action when it comes to Elektra and Murdock.

Apart from Elektra, fans will be delighted to know that Frank Castle aka the Punisher will be seen in season two. Screen Crush reports that the role, played by "The Walking Dead" alum Jon Bernthal, will certainly be one comic-book fans want to watch. The Punisher is Marvel's deadliest vigilante.

Fans have leaked the first set of production photos which shows Bernthal, Charlie Cox and Elden Henson as the Punisher, lead Matt Murdock and his partner and best friend Foggy Nelson.

The leaked photos created a little disappointed since Bernthal was not sporting the Punisher's full regalia. Fansided reports that Bernthal's Frank Castle was clad in an all-black attire with a noticeably close-cropped hairstyle. However, these photos were the first few days of the cast and crew on set.

Apart from confirmation of Henson, Cox, Yung and Bernthal appearing in season two, actress Rosario Dawson will also reprise her role as Claire Temple. Interestingly, her character is contracted to appear in any of the upcoming Marvel TV shows which include "AKA Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders."

Speculations are also doing the rounds that Bullseye may be seen in the forthcoming season, however, there have been no casting news or confirmation by Marvel. "Daredevil" season two premieres in 2016.
