'Dance Moms' season 6 update: More cast members quitting; Abby Lee Miller to star in new show

"Dance Moms" is in mid-season limbo with news that mentor and chief choreographer Abby Lee Miller is quitting the show. This also puts in question the possibility of the said reality television getting another season. To further the show's troubles, rumors of Miller starring on another reality show have also surfaced.
Last month, Miller revealed that she has been having problems with the network Lifetime regarding payments and disagreements on shooting the show. In an exclusive interview with ETOnline, the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) director revealed that Lifetime has not only had deficits in payments but the network is also sort of ruining her business.
Miller says that contrary to people's assumptions that her studio is attracting more students because of the television exposure, more and more students have been dropping out because the crew continuously disrupts regular classes. The choreographer mentions incidents of bag stepping and kid pushing from the "Dance Moms" crew.
She also shared that she has always wanted the kids to be the main focus of the show and had been asking for the spotlight to be moved away from the moms. Unless these are met and her payments are cleared, she just might not return for a new season.
And that might just be the reality for "Dance Moms" season six. Movie News Guide reports that Miller has completely dropped out of the show and is now in negotiations for a new program.
On top of that, it has also been reported that tap dancer Maddie Ziegler is thinking of completely leaving to focus on acting in film and TV after her succesful stint in teen thriller "Pretty Little Liars."
Another fan favorite, contemporary dancer Nia Frazier Sioux, is also thinking of not signing up for season six. If all these push through, then season five may be the last season of the reality show.
These are all but mere rumors and speculations at the moment as the show has not been confirmed for cancellation just yet. Stay tuned for more updates on "Dance Moms" season six. In the meantime, watch the final "Dance Moms" season five episode on July 21, 9 p.m.
