'Criminal Minds' season 11 episode episode 22 finale spoilers: Hotch gets apprehended by authorities; Mr. Scratch to return?

"Criminal Minds" is nearing its final episode and it's bound to get exciting for all its viewers. Fans will have to wait until next week to catch what happens in the finale.
Titled "The Storm," the episode may be related to what the previous episode's UnSub, Antonia Slade (Frances Fisher), said to Hotch (Thomas Gibson). In "Devil's Backbone," Antonia warned Hotch that a storm is coming. Apparently, that storm will involve the Behavioral Analysis Unit's leader being apprehended by a SWAT team over suspected conspiracy, as stated in the official synopsis.
The team will be dealing with this big problem knowing that their leader has been taken away. The rest of the BAU members will work hard to clear Hotch's name, but in the process, they'll realize that an even bigger plot lies ahead.
The episode will also put more focus on Gibson's character, as revealed by showrunner Erica Messer. "I don't want to say Hotch is the center of [the finale], but it has a lot to do with Hotch," she told TVGuide.
In relation to this, a mysterious villain will also be back for the finale.
Mr. Scratch was one of the few unsolved mysteries from "Criminal Minds." This UnSub made his first appearance in season 10 as a killer who controls the minds of his victims. Hotch fell victim to his tactics and was drugged and tortured by him. However, Mr. Scratch was never caught and was never heard from since, but his identity has puzzled a lot of fans. It may be high time to reveal who this creepy killer is when the final episode airs.
With Hotch apprehended and his nightmare returning, the final episode will surely get everyone talking. However, it remains to be seen what happens after the episode or if another season will be released. CBS has not officially announced the renewal of "Criminal Minds," but Messer did hint that season 11's finale will be a cliffhanger to prepare for season 12.
Catch the season finale of "Criminal Minds" on May 4, Wednesday, 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
