Spencer Reid's (Matthew Gray Gubler) prison life will take another dangerous turn on the next episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12.

The court denied Reid's petition for bail in the previous episode, and ordered for his transfer to the Millburn Correctional Facility. This is not a favorable move for the BAU agent, since a lot of inmates in that facility were captured by the BAU in the past. Good thing he met and befriended another former FBI agent Calvin Shaw (Harold Perrineau).

In the trailer for the upcoming episode called "Assistance Is Futile," Reid acknowledges that he is running out of time to prove his innocence since Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman) manages to successfully set him up in a murder crime that he did not commit, but JJ (A.J. Cook) reminds him that the BAU will not let that happen.

But toward the end of the trailer, a group of inmates are seen confronting Reid in his own cell and call him a snitch, then they suddenly attack him. Can the BAU manage to save Reid before it becomes too late?

Meanwhile, the synopsis for the upcoming episode also reveals that a mother will approach the BAU to offer vital information to help the team in their investigation on a mysterious unsub that is popularly known as the bone crusher.

According to reports, Academy Award winner Tatum O'Neal will portray the role of a mother named Miranda White who will step forward and offer pertinent information about the new deadly unsub.

Other guest stars for the upcoming episode include Aidan Bristow as the unsub named Danny White, Wayne Lopez as Detective Baez, Crystal-Lee Naomi as Gigi Stevens, Peter James Smith as M.E. Wong, and Rawann Gracie as the younger version of the unsub.

CBS will air the next episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12 on CBS on Wednesday, March 15, at 9 p.m. EST.
