'Criminal Minds' season 11 spoilers: Shemar Moore will miss free food; Paget Brewster returns to fill the void in episode 19
Fans are still reeling from the shocking exit of "Criminal Minds" core character Derek Morgan, the hunky Supervisory Special Agent played by Shemar Moore.
Last week, fans saw Derek saying goodbye to the Behavioral Analysis Unit after his fiancée Savannah (Rochelle Aytes) and their unborn baby's lives were threatened by an assailant.
When asked about what he'll be missing most from working with the series, Moore told E! Online that he's going to miss the free food on set. "I'm not the best cook in the world, so now I'm walking my dogs a lot and I've got to go grocery shopping. I might take a cooking class."
More than that, the 45-year-old actor admits that he'll miss the rest of the guys. "I'm going to miss the camaraderie that we earned and that we built," he said. He recalled that he had been the guy who always got punked around on set.
At the moment, Moore is currently doing interviews about his exit. He is already set to take the next step in his entertainment career by starring in movies.
Now that Moore's left the show, fans are wondering what's next for "Criminal Minds" and what the "Derek-less" show would be like, especially considering that the hit CBS crime drama series has not been renewed.
The network recently announced 11 shows that have been renewed for another season, but "Criminal Minds" didn't make it on the list. Although the series is doing excellently when it comes to ratings, making the show can be expensive.
CBS has yet to make a formal announcement if "Criminal Minds" will make it through another season. In the meantime, fans can catch the next episode, which will welcome back Paget Brewster as former BAU member, Emily Prentiss.
Towards the final scene of the previous episode, Derek said, "As a good friend of mine said, 'every ending is also a beginning; we just don't know it at that time.'" This was a quote by Emily Prentiss back in season 7. This somehow hinted Emily's return in the show.
Emily will be tracking down an international serial killer whose next victim will be on American soil. Apart from her comeback, the BAU will also deal with Derek's exit.
"Criminal Minds" airs Wednesdays, 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
