"Criminal Minds" has brought great storylines this season and it is about to add another to its roster in season 10. A murdered family and Hotch's father-in-law's issues will surface in episode 2o.

In "A Place At The Table", Yibada reports that the BAU will investigate the murder of a Maryland-residing family at their dinner table. Rossi, Hotch, Morgan and Callahan attempt to dig deeper into the family's friends and each member's history in order to find the suspect. Who would have murdered the whole family? Their investigation leads them to several of the murdered family's secrets. What skeletons in the closet were they hiding?

Meanwhile, Aaron Hotchner is going to have to deal with problems of his own. TVGuide reports that he is called when his father-in-law Roy is arrested. Roy suffers from Alzheimer and lands in a legal soup when he is arrested. Naturally, he calls the only connection he has: his son-in-law Hotch who is a top FBI dog. However, their relationship is considerably strained because Roy blames his daughter's death on Hotch.

Ed Asner, who previously played Guy Redmayne on "The Good Wife", revealed his character's relationship with Hotch to TVGuide. He said, "We're not close. He's the father of my cherished grandson Jack, but he's responsible for my daughter being brutally murdered."

His father-in-law harbors bitterness over his daughter's death and Hotch attempts to make amends. Erica Messer, the show's producer, also noted that some of Roy's bitterness arises from his dependence on others to take care of him, following his disease's progression. He does not want to ask anyone for help, least of all his son-in-law, Hotch.

Watch the investigation of a Maryland murder mystery and Hotch dealing with personal issues as "A Place At The Table" airs on Wednesday, April 15 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
