Episode 16 of "Chicago Med" season 2 will have the characters confront difficult situations when the show returns to the small screen this week. Titled "Prisoner's Dilemma," the different doctors at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center will have various challenging patient cases and personal matters to tackle.

The official synopsis reveals that a troubled teen from the psychiatric department will seek the help of Dr. Sarah Reese (Sarah DiPillo).

Meanwhile, Chief Resident Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) will work hand-in-hand to save both the life of a young girl from Ecuador who collapsed in the middle of her flight and that of her mother, who have made sacrificed a lot for her child. 

Meanwhile, Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) will have some serious discussions with the parents of her patient as she helps them make a decision about their daughter's case. It turns out that their daughter, who is in comatose, is also pregnant.

In the promotional preview of the upcoming episode, the victim lies unconscious on the hospital bed as the medical staff attends to her. Later on, Dr. Manning becomes worried when she finds out that the patient is pregnant. The preview teases that the parents "must choose which life to save."

Eventually, the patient's father decides to save the baby, while his wife seems to agree. Toward the end of the preview, things become questionable when Dr. Manning tells the rest of her staff that they need to call the police. Is there a foul play in the case?

As for April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta), she will deal with some consequences pertaining to her personal life. In the previous episode, April found out about the death of her baby. However, she did not have much time to grieve over the news as she had to assist in the case of a patient with heart problems. It is still uncertain what repercussions will she face, but it is possible that such will be linked to her loss.

"Chicago Med" season 2 will air episode 16 on Thursday, March 9, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
