'Chicago Fire' season 5 spoilers, air date: Casey to defend Boden from Jimmy

(Facebook/NBCChicagoFire)Jimmy and Boden's battle continues in "Chicago Fire" season 5.

Jimmy Borrelli (Steven R. McQueen) will not get any love from his colleagues once he starts to attack Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) in the upcoming season of "Chicago Fire."

Last installment, the new firefighter vented his anger at the chief after the accidental death of his brother. Jimmy was blaming Boden for what happened, claiming that his sibling's life could have been saved had the latter acted quickly.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jesse Spencer, who plays Casey in the series, hinted that the Firehouse 51 would side with Boden on this incident. Jimmy is distraught and grieving, but his continued vendetta with the chief will not earn him sympathy. Instead, he will just alienate himself from the others. Casey, in particular, appears to be supporting Boden on this case.

"Jimmy is going down a slippery slope and he believes that Boden more or less contributed to the death of his brother and blames him for it. If he goes with that and goes after him, then he's going after his entire career and the whole house. So its another one of those storylines which is the catalyst that throws the whole house into disarray," Spencer said.

Previously, executive producer Matt Olmstead teased to TV Line that either Jimmy or Boden would have to leave the firehouse. The new season will reportedly dwell on the battle between the two and one of them will definitely be exiting after. Speculations claim that it is going to be Jimmy. Boden has been an integral part of Firehouse 51 long before Jimmy came into the picture. The higher ups will probably side with Boden too, since they know the chief is not the type of person Jimmy is accusing him to be.

"Chicago Fire" season 5 airs on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
