Casio has announced that the Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 will finally be available to purchase starting March 25. The smartwatch powered by Android Wear was first introduced last January during the CES 2016 and was able to receive numerous awards for its innovative technologies.

The Casio Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 features a 1.32-inch dual-layer touch screen display with a 320 x 300 screen resolution. With the dual-layer display, the monochrome LCD and color LCD are separately installed. This specific layering allows excellent visibility even when under the harsh sunlight.

The rugged smartwatch is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy their environment but still stay connected to their smartphone.

The watch face, available with a digital or analog display, comes with a functional and practical design. It displays all relevant information including barometric pressure, altitude, and direction. The watch face can also be easily customized to display the necessary information needed specific to a certain activity.

The smartwatch is very durable and capable of withstanding all kinds of outdoor activities like trekking, cycling, and fishing, among many others. It is water resistant up to 50 meters so it is able to take on sudden rain showers, sweat, or water splashes. It has also complied with military standard specifications (MIL-STD-810G) ensuring its ability to withstand drops, vibrations, and other harsh environmental factors.

The Smart Outdoor Watch also provides users with real-time updates of weather conditions including changes in atmospheric pressure, bet fishing times, and time of sunsets. The up-to-date notifications help users schedule their different outdoor activities.

Casio's smartwatch is powered by a lithium-ion battery that provides power for more than a day during normal use. When used as a timepiece only, the battery can provide power for up to a month. As the smartwatch is also powered by Android Wear, it comes with support for Google apps and services including Gmail, Google Maps, Google Fit, Weather, and Voice search.

The Casio Smart Outdoor Watch is available in four colors — black, green, red, and orange. It will be sold for $500 on Amazon.com, ShopCasio.com, Rei Co-op, and the Google Store.
