Reporting on the possibility of a "Call of Duty: Ghosts 2" arriving this year, Ubergizmo states that until now, very little was known about the upcoming "Call of Duty" game for this year. However, it adds that a print magazine, Games TM, has leaked the information about the game in the U.K. In the article which appeared in the magazine, the author listed the upcoming "Call of Duty: Ghosts 2" as one of the most anticipated game of the year but it cautions that the game will have to improve a lot. Importantly, it compares the upcoming "Call of Duty: Ghosts 2" to those in the "Modern Warfare" series and states that it will have its task cut out for it if it wants to match or exceed the expectations of gamers.

The appearance of "Call of Duty: Ghosts 2" in the magazine has been termed as a "gaffe" by many but it appears that the news has some truth to it. Also, Activision announced on Feb. 11 that there was a new "Call of Duty" game in the works and it was being created by Infinity Ward. Since Infinity Ward created "Call of Duty: Ghosts," it is likely that they have been roped in to create the sequel.

"Call of Duty: Ghosts" was released in 2013 and it did not do as well as other games in the franchise. However, the game ended on a cliffhanger and it is likely that the upcoming version will try to solve some of the unanswered questions that it posed. Forbes states that it is likely that the news could be false, but it adds that creating a "Call of Duty: Ghosts 2" is not something that Activision should be planning and labels it as a mistake.
