'Call of Duty' Eclipse DLC packs zombies and new maps
There is a new DLC in the works for the game "Call of Duty" and it is named Eclipse. Importantly, the DLC is a map pack and details pertaining to it were teased last month ahead of its upcoming reveal on Apr. 19.
Announcing the details about the map pack, Activision took to its blog and stated that it would be first releasing for the PlayStation 4 console. Additionally, it became clear that the DLC was not going to be arriving on consoles like the Xbox One anytime soon and the earliest it would land is next month. As soon as details about Eclipse were made public by Activision, many were pointing toward the fact that a reimagining of the Banzai map is one its key features. This will be a modern take on the classic map and there is also going to be new zombie action arriving in the form of the next installment in the "Black Ops 3 Zombies" story.
Among the new multiplayer maps is Spire in which players will find themselves in an airport terminal. However, this is no earth-based airport but a futuristic version that is positioned high above in the stratosphere. Here, the action will include a lot of combat and a high-tech environment, and if players loses their footing, they will find themselves hurtling toward earth. The next map in the DLC is named Rift and it consists of a military complex that is situated in a caldera, which even has a railway line suspended over it.
The map called Knockout involves a lot of Kung Fu action, and players will get to square off against others in a tournament, while the Verge will be a retooled Banzai map. In Verge, players will find themselves in the future where the action is dominated by two factions that are at war.
Finally, the Zetsubou No Shima map will see players left on an island in the Pacific where they will have to face off against zombies that come in the form of mutated humans, animals, and even plants.
