'Bringing Up Bates' spoilers: Fans to see a new couple soon?
A new couple may be underway in "Bringing Up Bates."
The rumors came as talks on courtship arose in the family. Nathan confirmed that she was courting someone named Ashley, who is obviously not a Duggar. The show did not reveal much about her and her family except for two facts — that her last name is Salyer and that she is currently studying in New York.
At first, Nathan confided to the family that he has been talking to Ashley for months, leading his brothers to tease him that there is more to it than just talking. Even though Nathan did not really make an actual clarification, what he said shows that there is more to him and Ashley.
He said, "I've been thinking and praying over the past, you know, four or five months that me and Ashley have been talking. And, you know, there's always things that you never know until they happen."
With that already confirmed, all eyes are now on Lawson. In the previous months, there have been rumors circling around about a possible Bates–Duggar pairing, saying that Lawson Bates might be courting Jinger Duggar. The family hasn't given any information about that, however.
Meanwhile, viewers cannot help but compare the Bates with the Duggars whose family is the same size as theirs. With that comparison comes the topic about Josh Duggar and his actions that caused his downfall.
When asked about this, "Bringing Up Bates" executive producer Matthew Hightower had this to say, according to the Observer Culture: "There are similarities between the families, but you really can't compare them to each other just as you can't compare any two other families. They're very different from each other in many, many ways, and I think that's all that needs to be said about this."
"Bringing Up Bates" is being aired every Thursday at 9 p.m. EDT on UP TV.
