Boston Celtics trade rumors 2016: Hawks' Paul Millsap to follow Al Horford?

It appears that there is no player safe from the Boston Celtics' radar in this year's off-season. Now, their list of targeted players grows bigger with the addition of Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap.

(Reuters/Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports)The Atlanta Hawks' Paul Millsap (center) is reportedly targeted by the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics were already linked to the biggest names like Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin and Kevin Love, but so far, their most notable addition is center Al Horford. However, he may not be the last player they are going to acquire from the Hawks.

Boston is reportedly asking the Hawks about Millsap, who was rumored to be on the trade market.

Millsap recently frequented trade talks following the departure of Horford and point guard Jeff Teague (Indiana Pacers) from Atlanta. Because of these moves, some believed the Hawks are ready to rebuild and dealing away the 31-year-old could be a part of that process.

Along with this, others are questioning if Millsap can coexist with center Dwight Howard who signed with the Hawks last month.

These are mainly the reasons why Millsap finds himself in the trade rumor mill, although he is not affected by it and understands the business aspect of being in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

If the Celtics desire to add Millsap, they must also be willing to part ways with some of their big men by including them in a potential trade deal because if they are not going to unload some players at the no. 4 and 5 positions, the acquisition of the veteran will give them a problem similar to that of the Philadelphia 76ers - a crowded front line.

Whoever they give up, Millsap will be a great addition if the C's opt to pursue trading for him. The former All-Star is a tested veteran, an efficient contributor on both ends of the floor and has already proven to have great chemistry with Horford.
