Viewers who are fond of supernatural shows and police procedurals, or both, will get a unique Halloween treat this year with the much anticipated crossover of "Bones" and "Sleepy Hollow."

The two-hour special will start with new FBI Agent Abigail Mills (Nicole Beharie) and displaced Revolutionary War captatin Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) traveling to the Jeffersonian in episode five of "Bones" season eleven, titled "The Resurrection in the Remains."

The fun will then continue when veteran FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) pay a visit to Sleepy Hollow in this season's fifth episode, "Dead Men Tell No Tales."

During the "Bones" episode, Ichabod and Abbie will be trying to claim several 200-year-old remains that are also headless. However, the remains are apparently connected to a recent murder. In the "Sleepy Hollow" episode, Booth and Brennan's denial of the supernatural explanation prompts them to search for another answer in Abbie's town.

Fans of both shows are worried as to how the plot and the characters will work together. But according to reports, the characters actually complement each other well.

In Bones' case, she appears to welcome the knowledge and expertise that Crane brings. Even Crane's 18th-century outfit is not something that even bothered the forensic anthropologist. According to Bones showrunner Michael Peterson, the chemistry between Bones and Crane was probably due to the fact that "he was a scholar."

On Deschanel's part, she believes that the crossover certainly meant that there was "a lot of room for some humor" as her character doesn't believe in the supernatural.

The same positive chemistry appears to be at work with Abbie and Booth as well. Mills will apparently feel very comfortable working with Booth as "her dream, more or less, was to be Booth."

"She wanted forever to be an FBI agent and to be doing these big, high-profile cases, so they, too, have this great relationship," explains Peterson.

But Peterson believes that what it ultimately boils down to is that even if it's a crossover, both shows retain their energy and style, and just incorporated some elements of another equally successful show.

The "Bones/ Sleepy Hollow" crossover will air on Oct. 29.
