Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) is confident he will walk again in the second half of season 11 of the long-running FOX series "Bones."

During the midseason finale, Hodgins' back was damaged by an explosion. The prognosis was not positive, as doctors pronounced him paralyzed from the waist down. In his interview with TV Line, co-showrunner John Collier admitted that things would be tough for Hodgins, as he adjusts to a life confined to a wheelchair. When pushed if there is a chance that the character would walk again, he hinted that they were thinking about it, but that it would be "tough going."

Executive producer Michael Peterson also told TV Guide that as far as they were concerned, Hodgins would be wheelchair-bound. He teased, however, that there is always a chance for a miracle, considering Hodgins' determination to walk again.

"When we pick back up, Jack is very much anxious to prove that he's absolutely going to get out of the chair as soon as possible and it's his struggle to stay as positive as possible while the rest of the team is so desperately concerned about him. ... He believes that he's going absolutely crush this thing and get out of that chair as soon as possible," he said.

With the series renewed for season 12, the chances of Thyne's character walking again have increased, as the showrunners will be given more time to iron out the storyline for him and Michaela Conlin's Angela. FOX CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman recently announced that Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and her team would be given another season to give the loyal fans "a meaningful and satisfying conclusion."

Deschanel took to her Twitter account to express her gratitude to the fans who have stuck with the series for many years. She said that although she's sad that the show is coming to a close, she and her co-stars are also happy that they would get to give it an ending that the fans deserve. Season 12 will run for a total of 12 episodes.

"Bones" season 11 will return on Thursday, April 14, at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
