"Bones" has certainly upped the storyline with Booth's gambling addiction resurfacing and Brennan's emotional pregnancy. With the married couple facing considerable marital problems this season, will the duo reach their breaking point?

In episode 14 named "The Putter In The Rough", Hollywood Hills reports that The Jeffersonian team will investigate the death of a mini-golf star. A professional mini-golfer's death reveals the sports' highly competitive nature as the team pieces together the events that led to his death.

But Brennan will be facing problems of her own as she suspects her father, Max Keenan, is going back to his old criminal ways. Meanwhile, squintern Wendell Bray asks for Hodgins' help as he attempts to fix his girlfriend's family heirloom. Sounds like an interesting "Bones" episode for some its loyal fans.

However, the most interesting aspect of this episode will be how it explores Brennan and her father's relationship. She will discover her father's best-kept secrets. What is Max hiding from his daughter?

Actress Emily Deschanel, who essays the role of Brennan, addressed a similar question regarding her character's childhood to TVLine. She said, "Yes, we get to the bottom of and explain certain things from my childhood. Max lies to me again and doesn't tell me where he's going, and I get very suspicious. But then things are revealed that help us understand certain things about Max, his history and my history with him."

Fans should expect to get a rare glimpse into the scientist's childhood in the upcoming episode.

Moreover, Booth and Brennan's marital problems continue as the season progresses, leaving room for speculation on whether the two resolve their issues eventually or go their separate ways during the season's finale.

"The Putter In The Rough" airs on Thursday, April 16 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
