'Blindspot' season 2 spoilers: Jane Doe's real identity will be revealed
Questions that the concluding episode of its first season left will be answered when "Blindspot" returns for its season 2 run. With the upcoming reveal on the real identity of Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and the threats that she will encounter, there is no questioning that "Blindspot" season 2 is something to watch out for.
While viewers can already expect Jane to be brought to the FBI as she was seen being handcuffed in the last episode of the series' season 1, it is rumored that she will not stay long under the custody of the FBI. Although it is uncertain if Jamie will escape or be freed by the FBI, according to TV Guide, the reason for her not to stay long under the ward of the authorities is because of an imminent big threat.
In the same report, it has also been learned that the series will feature a three-month time jump from the events of the previous season and will usher back characters who are a threat to Jane, including Cade (Tom Lipinski), who was once a member of Jane and Oscar's (François Arnaud) group.
Certainly, a lot of things about Jane will be brought to light in "Blindspot" season 2. In season 1, it was revealed that Jane is not Taylor Shaw, after all, as the real Taylor Shaw already died in the hands of Weller's (Sullivan Stapleton) father. However, the mystery on the real identity of Jane will be finally unveiled as soon as "Blindspot" season 2 airs.
"You're going to learn Jane's real name in episode 1 of season 2. You're going to find out a lot. A lot. And it will be real this time," revealed "Blindspot" executive producer Martin Gero to Entertainment Weekly back in May.
Apart from shedding light on the real identity of Jane, Gero also revealed in the same interview that the upcoming season 2 of "Blindspot" will also delve into her former organization and will usher in a new character named Shepherd.
"Yeah, season 2 is a lot about going much deeper into Jane's former organization and meeting this very mysterious Shepherd character. For us, we really want to answer the majority of the mythology questions by the end of season 2, and then we have a really great idea for what season 3 is about. Season 2 is going to be extraordinarily satisfying viewing for our fans," said Gero.
Who is the real Jane Doe? What troubles will Cade create for her? Find out when "Blindspot" returns to NBC for its season 2 on Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. ET.
