'Bleach' chapter 686 spoilers, rumors: Manga series ends with a hint of a spin-off

(Manga Stream)It is speculated that after "Bleach" ends with its chapter 686, a spin-off series is already in the pipeline.

All's well that ends well in the final chapter of "Bleach," which will feature a 10-year time jump into the future. However, with "Bleach" chapter 686 ending intriguingly, rumors claiming that a spin-off series may be in the pipeline have been bolstered.

According to I Digital Times, the chapter starts with an orange-haired boy being chased in an alleyway. As the story progresses, he is then featured looking at a black blob while, in Soul Society, Yhwach's power appears to be attacking the captains anew. However, as the boy places his hand in the black blob, Yhwach's power explodes into nothing.

Later in the boy's room, a warp hole develops where a red-haired little girl dressed as a shinigami appears. Upon introducing herself as Ichika Abarai, she asks the boy what his name is. The little boy replies that his name is Kazui Kurosaki and reveals that he is a shinigami, too, which surprises the girl.

As the chapter ends with a scene featuring Ichika looking surprised, and the story ends without really explaining who Kazui Kurosaki is, it is now speculated that a spin-off series is in the pipeline. After all, it was rumored earlier that, while it's true that the pages of "Bleach" will fold, a spin-off is possible.

Meanwhile, apart from an ending that seems to suggest a spin-off, "Bleach" chapter 686 also features Ichigo having his own clinic called Kurosaki clinic. As Rukia and Renji tease Ichigo that his clinic is empty, Ichigo says that it is a good sign because his clinic is for emergency purposes only and its being empty is an indication that there are no emergency cases.

On the other hand, Chad has already become a world famous boxer, and Tatsuki, Keigo, Mizuiro, Rukia, Ichigo gather at Ichigo's clinic to watch his fight. Ishida, who has also become a doctor, is seen taking a break from his hospital duties to watch Chad's latest bout on his phone.

On the whole, the finale chapter of "Bleach" still packs a lot of action-filled entertainment with another bout between Ichigo and Yhwach.

However, in the end, peace still prevails.

"Bleach" chapter 686 is scheduled for a release on Aug. 22.
