'Bleach' chapter 686 spoilers, plot news: Ichigo reunites with Rukia; Yhwach not dead?

(Facebook/Bleach)Ichigo heads back to Soul Society in "Bleach" chapter 686.

Ichigo and his friends are heading back to the Soul Society to celebrate Rukia's proclamation as captain in the next and final chapter of "Bleach."

The penultimate episode saw the captains lining up to accept Rukia as part of the Gotei 13. She is reportedly heading the 13th division. After defeating Yhwach, Ichigo returned to the human world to reunite with Uryuu, Inoue and Chad. According to HOF Mag, Ichigo's father, Isshin, will ask his son to visit Soul Society, but Ichigo refuses. Upon reflection, Isshin will tell Ichigo that Rukia is now a captain, hoping that this will make him change his mind. The bait will allegedly work, as Ichigo will round up the team to personally offer their congratulations to Rukia.

Although the manga is reportedly ending, fans are still hoping that artist Tite Kubo is going to announce that he will be writing a continuation to the story of "Bleach." Speculations are rife that Yhwach's storyline is open-ended. Before chapter 685 was over, it was hinted that The Almighty ruler's Reiatsu has been spotted once again. Yibada cites the fans' discussion at Reddit, stating that Yhwach might have escaped from Ichigo by traveling to the future.

Ichigo's future self will reportedly battle with Yhwach. There are also rumors that Ichigo will replace Kyoraku Shunsui as the new Captain-Commander of Soul Society. Inoue is said to be his wife. Some suggest a more dramatic ending for the plot. Ichigo will allegedly hunt down Yhwach and follow him into the future. There, he will see Soul Society at its most peaceful. He will vow to himself that he will finish Yhwach once and for all.

Meanwhile, there have been speculations that a probable prequel is in the works. The story will reportedly revolve around the early days of Soul Society. At the moment, fans can only hope that it is not yet the end of "Bleach." They can only wait for the release of the last chapter, 686, which will be on Aug. 22.
