As the BlackBerry Priv arrived in the market, one among the many devices to emerge as a challenger was this year's flagship phone from LG the G4.

Design

While for many, the physical keyboard on the Priv is its most attractive element, the device has a lot more going for it in the form of its screen that comes with dual curved edges. One of the edges can be customized to display quick access icons for apps and also the charge in the battery. As for the keyboard it actually slides under the screen of the device when it is not in use and has several neat features. Coming to its build, it has a metal frame and fiberglass on its back panel which is covered with a soft touch coating. In terms of colors, it is limited to black and it does not have a fingerprint scanner. Compared to this the LG G4 has a complete plastic build and a slight curve running along its length, and its back panels are made from polycarbonate and comes in gray, gold and ceramic white. However, there are optional back panels made from leather that have been dyed black, brow and red.

Display

Both these devices have relatively similar displays; the Priv has an AMOLED version measuring 5.4 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 540 pixels per inch. On the LG G4 is an IPS LCD display measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 538 pixels per inch.

Specs

When it comes to hardware, both are similar and each has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, coupled with a hexa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz along with an Adreno 418 GPU.

Memory

Each of these devices have memory slots, the version on the LG G4 supports up to 128 GB and that of the Priv supports up to 200 GB. As for RAM, each has 3 GB onboard.

Camera

The 16 megapixel camera on the LG G4 which has OIS is ranked at the fourth position on DxOMark while the Priv which has an 18 megapixel camera with OIS has no ranking.

Price

When it comes to price, the LG G4 costs $199 with a two year contract, while the BlackBerry Priv is available at $250 with a two year contract.
