With Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 kicking off in Barcelona today, there have been several rumors about a variety of devices that could be making its way to the event. One of these devices is rumored to be a new smartphone from Blackberry running on Android.

Importantly, Blackberry already has an Android smartphone in the form of the Priv, which it released last year. This particular device was met with an enthusiastic response when it released and it did pretty well in terms of sales even though it did not beat the targets that were set by BlackBerry. However, going by the rumors reported by PhoneArena, a second Android device is being prepared by the company and it will be arriving during MWC 2016.

However, since this is just a rumor, there is no way to confirm its credibility. Meanwhile, before devices are revealed, there are usually a number of rumors about them and the same are true for the Vienna. This particular smartphone has already popped up in renders last year. Rumors about it also made an appearance last year and it was thought that the device will have a physical keyboard like previous models from BlackBerry but this will not slide under the display like it does on the Priv.

As for the latest rumor about the Vienna, it indicates that the device could be arriving during MWC with a 5-inch display. Also, it is thought that the device will have a flash on its rear and front, and it will be a LED version. Importantly, the Vienna is thought to be cheaper than the Priv, which would be a welcome development for people who want a modestly priced smartphone from BlackBerry that runs on Android.

Finally, in the run up to MWC 2016, there have been very few rumors about the Vienna and it has not appeared in the flesh in photos. This could mean that the company is still not ready to launch the device and it would not be arriving during MWC.
