'Black Sails' season 4 spoilers, news: More bloodshed and a new "Charles Vane"

Charles Vane (Zach McGowan) died in true pirate fashion when he was hanged in season 3. His death, however, makes way for anyone who will fill the "position" he has left behind, and that could mean more bloodshed in the upcoming season for the pirate series "Black Sails."
When season 3 ended, there was a voiceover of Billy which described the types of rulers that have existed in Nassau as the camera pans over the faces of Rackham (Toby Schmitz), Blackbeard (Ray Stevenson), Silver (Luke Arnold), and Flint (Toby Stephens).
Vane was described as a madman, and if there's anyone qualified to fill that title, it is Blackbeard, who happens to be Vane's mentor as well. Furthermore, Blackbeard will not rest until he avenges Vane's death, saying that Woodes was wrong to kill Vane and to think that there wouldn't be any consequences.
Then, there's also Long John Silver, an opportunist who will do everything to retain the power he has been given. History describes him and Blackbeard as the most fearsome pirates who ever existed.
Rackham might also step up and vie for the position Vane has left. Although he cannot be considered as a good pirate nor a skilled fighter, Vane's death affected him and could change him into something formidable.
"Jack is soaked with the loss of Charles in Season 4, there's no doubt about it. I don't think you can iron out Jack's go-to sense of humor — people make gags at wakes out of necessity — but it does redefine him. He may never get anyone like that back again in his life, and he feels the need to pay respect and homage to who he lost," Schmitz says, according to Inverse.
Whoever will step up after Vane's death remains a question. However, it is expected that season 4 will proceed in true "Black Sails" fashion, spilling more blood and increasing its body count.
