There is no denying that Disney's "Big Hero 6," which was released last November 6, 2014, really won not only the kids' hearts but also the young at heart. The success clearly reflected on the worldwide box-office gross of the animated movie; to date, "Big Hero 6" has earned more than $600 million across the globe and has been nominated for several awards including the BAFTA's and the Oscars. Because "Big Hero 6" turned out to be a commercial and critical success, Disney ordering a sequel almost comes as no surprise.

Since Big Hero 6 was the first Disney film to feature actual Marvel Comics characters, the legendary comic book writer, Stan Lee, is reportedly enthused to be part of the production for the sequel. In an interview during this year's Gilette/Stark Industries event as reported by Toronto Sun, he revealed that he would be working on the sequel for "Big Hero 6" after the production of "Black Panther," "Doctor Strange," and "the Inhumans" among others.

"After Ant-Man, we're going to start playing around with Doctor Strange, the Black Panther, the Inhumans, and then we have to come back for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Big Hero 6, the Avengers, Captain America. I don't even know how they decide what to do next, because every one of them is so exciting and the public is waiting for them."

Aside from Lee's involvement, spoilers surrounding the upcoming animated movie have been scarce. However this hasn't stopped fans from chiming in as to what they expect for part 2. In the 2014 adaptation, Hiro's brother, Tadashi, died in a tragic explosion when he attempted to save Professor Calahan who happen to be his mentor. According to Vine Report, Tadashi might not really be dead and the sequel would see him return as a villain.

The sequel of Big Hero 6 reportedly billed as "Big Hero 7" is scheduled to be released some time in 2017.
