'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers news: 'Breaking Bad' actor crossover is speculated; Gus Fring is expected to return
As 2017 draws near, so does the premiere of "Better Call Saul" season 3. Though its release date has yet to be announced, speculations are rife that a "Breaking Bad" actor will crossover to the show while Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) is highly expected to return.
"Better Call Saul" is a spin-off prequel of the famous crime drama series "Breaking Bad."
Reports are rife that actor Bryan Cranston, who played Walter White in "Breaking Bad," will jump over the fence of "Better Call Saul." However, he will not take the leap to join the cast. He is speculated to take over the director's seat for some episodes in season 3. Cranston has good credentials in terms of directing some TV series episodes. He once directed episodes for "Breaking Bad" and "Modern Family."
Mike Ehrmantraut's (Jonathan Banks) hanging situation in season 2 might provide some connection to another recurring character. It can be remembered that Mike was too close to taking down the elderly and sickly drug dealer Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis).
However, as Mike is close to pinning Hector down, he got a cryptic message tucked on his car's windshield. An unidentified person left him a note that says "Don't" and that certainly pertains to his discreet mission.
Den of Geek suggests that most clues are hinting that it was actually the renowned methamphetamine provider, Gus, who might be watching Mike's every move. It can also be recalled that season 2 dropped a major hint about Gus' comeback. Keen fans of "Better Call Saul" have noticed that every initial letter of season 2's episode titles would actually make up "Fring's Back."
Last month, showrunners Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan have confirmed through an IGN interview that fans got the Fring "secret code" correctly. Gilligan admitted that they wanted to drop a little clue on what to expect in the following installment of the show. But he also agreed that they "underestimated the intelligence" of the viewers.
During the IGN interview, the showrunners did not directly confirm Gus' return. Gilligan said, "I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, but speaking for myself, the fans earned this one. I'm not going to say what happens but the people figured this out on their own. I don't want to be too evasive either."
"Better Call Saul" season 3 is expected to premiere sometime in 2017.
