'Bates Motel' season 5 spoilers: Will the infamous shower scene finally air?
Rihanna's portrayal of the iconic "Psycho" character Marion Crane finally aired in the previous episode of "Bates Motel" season 5, but her complicated situation is expected to get worse on the next episode.
In the previous episode called "Dreams Die First," Marion was first introduced as Sam Loomis' (Austin Nichols) mistress from Seattle. After things turned south for Marion at work when she decided to steal the $400,000 cash that her boss at the realtor's office entrusted to her, she decided to pack all her stuff and move to White Pine Bay to closer to Sam.
However, Marion has no idea that Sam is still married to Madeleine (Isabelle McNally). When she asked him if they can meet up at his place, Sam refused and lied about renting a cheap room with a strict landlord. But since Marion really needed to talk to Sam about her current problem, she just told him to meet up at the Bates Motel.
Based on the trailer for the upcoming episode, Marion will be welcomed by the motel owner Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) upon checking in. This may possibly not work for Marion's favor, since Norman's deceased mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) does not seem pleased with her son's blossoming closeness with his new guest.
Speculations about the upcoming episode called "Marion" claim that the infamous shower scene that was popularized by the "Psycho" franchise could possibly be seen in the upcoming installment of the series. In the original film that was directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Norman watches as Marion undresses through a peephole in her room. When she is busy taking a shower, a mysterious figure suddenly appears and stabs her to death.
Meanwhile, the synopsis also mentions that Sam and Madeleine's marriage will encounter a major crossroad. Does it mean that the couple will finally decide to call it quits?
The next episode of "Bates Motel" season 5 will be aired by A&E on Monday, March 27, at 10 p.m. EDT.
