'Awkward' season 6 spoilers: showrunners hint on Lissa's path to success

Following the conclusive finale of "Awkward" season five, fans are still waiting for MTV to announce a sixth season. And ahead of the official announcements, the showrunners have recently hinted on Lissa's future.
While almost every fan will admit that Lissa (Greer Grammer) is the most unlikely character to climb onto the ladder of success, showrunners Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini told TV Line that Lissa will "absolutely" become a big name.
"We always liked the idea of Lissa - the one everyone thinks is a dingbat, the least likely to succeed - becoming a mega mogul with her atonercise tapes all over the world," Chessler explained in the TV Line interview.
It is safe to assume that fans did not expect Lissa to gain the favor of a major Christian organization. While Lissa apparently turned down a big offer, it seems she will still be victorious in the path she has decided to take.
Alberghini added, "As time goes on and she becomes more successful, she only becomes more cutthroat and savvy," meaning a sixth season will most probably see a much more triumphant Lissa in the long run.
The EPs also said earlier that if the series gets another installment, television should expect another time jump. This could hint that fans will see Lissa living a lavish life after college while the rest of the characters have their own lives to care for in season six.
MTV has yet to announce if the show will be renewed, but Carter Matt notes that there is a possibility for another round of fun and drama since most of the core cast appear to be interested in filming for one more set of episodes.
Probably one of the most interesting issues that should be tackled in the unannounced installment is the fate of Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and Matty (Beau Mirchoff). In the finale of season five, Matty appeared to have let Jenna go - which is the most selfless act he has ever done for the woman he loves.
If a time jump happens anytime soon, fans will most likely see Jenna and Matty dealing with their adult lives as they try to figure out if they're truly meant to be or not.
