'Avatar 2' rumors: Previous Na'Vi character art work proven fake; Michelle Rodriguez says she won't be reprising role

"Avatar 2" is perhaps one of the most-awaited sequels these days. But ever since it was announced, not much has been said about its development — be it about casting or story arcs. Apparently, even some of the updates fans have been getting have been proven fake.
Recently, a supposed original concept art for a Na'Vi character was posted on Twitter. The account claimed to be producer Jon Landau's and fans flocked to it like crazy. No one can blame them, especially as the account also confirmed the release of the movie in 2017. But with most things viral these days, that photo had to be taken with a grain of salt.
Some more credible online sources have already proven the artwork as fake. Deadline even went further and called the Twitter account as fake. They also reported that Landau himself is currently trying to get the account suspended — which seems to have succeeded as the account is now no longer active. When it was still up, though, one could easily spot it as a fake as most tweets refer to the producer as "he" rather than "I" or "me."
That was not the only thing that gave the account away. Those who have followed "Avatar" closely can easily identify the artwork released as coming from the 2009 film. Also, the account description listed the American producer as producer of "The Hurt Locker," which he is not.
Rumors about the film does not end there. Many have speculated on who is coming back for the sequel of the epic sci-fi fiction. One of those that fans want back is Trudy Chacón, played by Michelle Rodriguez. That, however, is just not happening.
The 37-year-old actress told New York Post, "They're bringing back a lot of other characters. I know [Sigourney Weaver's] coming back and the guy who played the bad guy, [Stephen Lang], is coming back. But yeah, I'm not gonna be in it."
Currently, there is a tight lid over details of the sequel. Stay tuned for more on "Avatar 2."
